We’re looking for a driven, detail-obsessed individual to join our Roofing and Waterproofing Division, working directly under the Director of Roofing and Waterproofing on some of the city’s most challenging and high-profile exterior projects. Royal’s Roofing and Waterproofing division has made an impact in the NYC market with re-roofs using some of the best manufacturers such as Siplast, Sika, Soprema, Kemper and etc. The Roofing and Waterproofing division is one of the fastest growing divisions in Royal and we are looking to continue growing by hiring ambitious Field Engineers/APM’s to go through mentorship provided by seasoned Project Managers on the team and the Director.

Role Overview

This is not a typical 9-to-5 desk job – it’s an opportunity for someone who thrives in the field, isn’t afraid of heights, and wants to be in the middle of the action. As Field Engineer, you’ll be the Director’s and PM’s right hand for inspections, quality control, and technical documentation. You’ll be on-site daily discussing work with Foreman’s, taking precise measurements, coordinating with inspectors, and making sure every detail is correct before the project moves forward.

What You’ll Be Doing

•⁠ ⁠Daily Field Inspections – Review progress with Foremen, be involved in the day-to-day roof replacement from ripping to install and document everything with photos and short reports.

•⁠ ⁠Inspector Coordination – Work side-by-side with Architects, Consultants and Manufacturer inspectors for initial, progress, and final inspections.

•⁠ ⁠QA/QC Excellence – Conduct internal final quality checks with Foremen, ensuring every task is done right the first time.

•⁠ ⁠Documentation Mastery – Consolidate phasing and record quantities of completed work.

•⁠ ⁠Technical Submittals – Prepare shop drawings and Product Data Sheets with Bluebeam and/or AutoCad in collaboration with the Project Manager.

•⁠ ⁠Progress Tracking – Report on work completed to date, creating internal reference documents for architects and engineers.

What We’re Looking For

We’re after a superstar—someone who:

•⁠ ⁠Has experience/knowledge in SBS and Liquid Applied Conventional and IRMA roofing systems.

•⁠ ⁠Holds a F60 and G60 (or is ready to get them—company will pay for training).

•⁠ ⁠Is proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

•⁠ ⁠Understands roofing systems well field inspection processes, and construction documentation.

•⁠ ⁠Can communicate clearly with crews, PMs, architects, and inspectors.

•⁠ ⁠Thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn’t afraid to work at heights.

•⁠ ⁠Takes pride in delivering clean, accurate, and actionable reports.
