Job Description

FairVote Washington is a non-partisan, non-profit organization promoting electoral reforms like ranked choice voting that give voters greater choice, a stronger voice, and a more representative democracy.

FairVote Washington is hiring a full-time Organizer with an immediate start date. The Organizer will be responsible for executing the field plan in their designated region/turf.

Specific Functions

  • Ensure that regional events (in person and virtual) have the necessary staffing, volunteers, equipment, training, and morale to successfully achieve organizational goals
  • Support political organizing through community, networking, and volunteer development
  • Manage supporter data in EveryAction; core uses include pulling lists, creating virtual phone banks, cutting turf, adding new volunteers, adding donations, connecting data to Mobilize.com, etc.

Skills and qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate the skills to support our programs and a genuine passion for the mission of FairVote Washington. Relevant experience matters, but we also deeply value enthusiasm, organization, and a drive to learn.

Required Qualifications:

  • One to two campaign cycles experience, or equivalent
  • Ability to attend in-person events in the greater Seattle area on a frequent basis
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Commitment to working in a non-partisan manner within a politically diverse organization
  • Ability to work long or irregular hours. May include nights and weekends in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace, including the ability to work collaboratively in a culture of feedback.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a political, non-profit, or community organizing setting with diverse communities
  • Some familiarity with ranked-choice voting and the political landscape in Washington State
  • Experience with Google Workspace applications, general computer skills and savvy, including Microsoft Office, and databases. Willingness and aptitude to learn other programs as necessary
  • Votebuilder/VAN exposure or proficiency
  • Comfortable being on camera for social media clips

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $47,500 -$56,400/ year

  • Medical/Dental/Vision - employer contributes $250/mo to a Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement (QSEHRA) account
  • Generous Paid Time Off includes federal holidays, the week between Christmas and New Year’s, plus ten vacation days per year
  • Retirement plan - employer matches up to 3% of employee’s salary to a SIMPLE IRA
