Job Description
Document medical visits and procedures/treatments performed by physicians, ensuring accuracy in charting and coding and performing duties with tact and discretion so as not to distract medical staff from patient care.
Assist physicians with procedures as needed
Perform basic tasks of a medical assistant, as required, giving injections, drawing blood, preparing tissue samples for pathology submission
Receive (electronically or in print) and document all lab and biopsy results. Communicate with physicians to ensure patients are notified promptly and that letters, visit notes, and pathology reports are faxed to all physicians involved in a patient’s care.
Perform other duties as assigned including scheduling, check-in and check-out
Knowledge and Experience:
Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of dermatology terminology preferred.
Experience with electronic medical records systems.
At least 2 years’ experience as a medical assistant; prefer 1 year experience as a medical scribe
Excellent computer skills, including use of standard office programs
Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy work environment; ability to concentrate, think, and learn;
Ability to work as member of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Promotes good public relations and customer service while maintaining strict
confidentiality and respect for the patient’s right to privacy
Follows office standards for personal conduct, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.

Full-time: 8:00-5:00 M-F
