We are currently seeking a dedicated Technical Sales Engineer to drive the adoption of our interior communications solutions within the defense sector. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, managerial capabilities, and sales acumen to effectively understand client requirements, present our products and solutions, and cultivate enduring partnerships. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will act as a liaison between our engineering teams and clients, ensuring that our solutions meet and exceed the unique demands of defense applications.
This role necessitates a fully on-site presence at our Upstate NY facility and may involve up to 20% domestic travel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop and deliver comprehensive technical and pricing proposals, encompassing system specifications, project timelines, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct thorough technical evaluations of client needs, offering expert advice on the deployment of our interior communication systems in defense platforms.
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and demonstrations to key decision-makers in government and industry, illustrating the advantages and capabilities of our solutions.
  • Tailor product offerings to suit specific defense projects, addressing client concerns and specifications.
  • Forge and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders in the defense sector, including military personnel, procurement officers, and defense contractors.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in communication technologies and defense trends, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Represent the company at defense industry trade shows, conferences, and events, showcasing our solutions and establishing a network of industry contacts.
  • Develop technical content highlighting the value proposition of our products in defense applications.
  • Provide post-sales technical support to clients, addressing any inquiries or issues encountered during the implementation and operation of our systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related technical field. Equivalent military experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in telephony hardware and software, encompassing PBX systems, gateways, routers, and VoIP technologies.
  • Strong familiarity with industry standards and protocols pertinent to telephony (e.g., SIP, H.323, ISDN PRI/BRI, PSTN).
  • Hands-on experience in telephony system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical sales within the defense industry, particularly in communication systems or related domains.
  • Comprehensive understanding of interior communication systems deployed in naval vessels or defense platforms.
  • Profound knowledge of military procurement processes, standards, and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales tools.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to client sites, industry events, and company headquarters as required.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain one is desirable.
  • Certifications related to telephony systems (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Avaya ACSS, etc.) are advantageous.
