Job Description

A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the 2025/2026 school year, serving an elementary K-12 school environment in Tyler, TX. This contract role offers the opportunity to work with diverse caseloads, including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Down Syndrome, while supporting communication goals through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities:

• Provide speech-language support to elementary students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Implement and follow AAC strategies and IEP goals tailored to individual student needs.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to promote student communication development.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state requirements.
• Support students with ASD and Down Syndrome in speech therapy sessions.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification and experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in school or healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of AAC systems and experience working with IEP-driven instruction.
• Experience supporting students with ASD and Down Syndrome preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage a full-time elementary caseload effectively.
