Part-time Tax Accountant for CPA Firm

We are looking for a part-time tax accountant to join our team. Whether you are someone who is looking to rejoin the accounting industry, dial back from crazy tax season hours, or work more hours in certain times of the year, your contribution helps us serve our client base and continue to grow. Our current staff is made up of individuals who have worked at other CPA firms and bring a great mix of experience to this firm. If you enjoy working with clients and the technical aspect of working at a CPA firm, but you want a chance to create your own schedule, this part-time flex schedule job may be a great fit for you. While most work is performed in the office, our staff all have the ability to work remotely. Staff also have the opportunity to participate in our recurring bonus program where in addition to hourly compensation, you are eligible to earn periodic bonuses based on 10% of client billings the firm collects from clients you are credited with initiating the relationship.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Preparation of business, individual and fiduciary income tax returns using UltraTax CS tax software to ensure timely filing of accurate returns and extensions

· Interact with clients on the phone, email and in-person to collect data for tax returns, provide tax advice and answer questions

· Prepare tax projections and provide estimated payment recommendations to clients

· Utilize tax research resources to stay up to date on the ever-changing tax environment

· Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals

· Represent clients in front of governmental tax agencies

Requirements and Qualifications

· Minimum 3-year experience as an accountant working at CPA firm

· Bachelor’s degree

· Corporate and personal tax experience

· Experience using tax software

· Exceptional computer skills, including experience with various Microsoft Office programs

· Experience with Quickbooks software (online and/or desktop versions) and familiarity with financial statements

· Outstanding communication and organizational skills

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Preferred but not required

· CPA license

· Experience using Thomson Reuters Ultra Tax CS tax preparation software
