Job Summary and Qualifications

The Ultra sonographer will provide optimum patient care while performing various Ultrasound exams in the Radiology Department, such as gallbladder, abdominal, testicular, pelvic, and OB sonography. They will successfully perform all Ultrasound exams per department standards. The sonographer must be able to correctly identify cross sectional anatomy on all images for the Radiologist. The sonographer must be able to correctly identify all areas of interest and image anatomy in varied patient positions. They must be able to do so under difficult patient conditions. Among additional responsibilities of the Radiology Sonographer are recognizing and reporting equipment malfunctions, immediate cleaning of all equipment used after each patient, proper use of all PPE per hospital standards, correctly charging all exams, and immediate submission of exams for viewing by the Radiologist. The Ultra sonographer will perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Radiology, the Medical Director of Radiology and/or the Shift Supervisor.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of a school of Radiology and/or graduate of a program in Ultrasound
• Two years of previous clinical experience
• ARRT, RDCS, RDMS, RVT, RCVT certification OR must be registry eligible
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BCLS or within seven days of hire
