Job Description

Director of Government Relations Location: Menomonee Falls, WI, USA – Woodland Prime 400 Facility. Work Arrangement: Hybrid (office and remote). Full-time, FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week. Job Summary As Director of Government Relations, under the direction of the Vice President of Governance and Government Relations, you will advance Froedtert ThedaCare Health’s legislative and executive branch‑related public policy priorities at the federal, state, and local levels, with emphasis on the State of Wisconsin. You will serve as a liaison with elected officials, staff, and governmental agency officials, engaging in direct lobbying, public policy analysis and advocacy-related activities. You will collaborate with the Vice President and other key leaders to understand and assess policy concerns, develop and advance public policy positions, build coalitions, develop supporting strategies, and conduct related research. Responsibilities Advise the organization on state, federal, and local policy issues affecting Froedtert Health. Engage directly with elected officials, their staff, and governmental agencies to lobby for priorities. Conduct policy analysis and develop advocacy strategies aligned with organizational goals. Build and sustain relationships with bipartisan stakeholders, governmental agencies, and coalition partners. Collaborate with the Vice President and other leaders to assess policy concerns and formulate public policy positions. Lead research efforts to support policy initiatives and provide evidence-based recommendations. Qualifications Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in government relations, public policy, or a related field. Proven track record of advancing government relations initiatives; lobbying experience at the state, federal, or local level is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business, public policy, political science, history, communications, or a related field. Strong public reputation and network across bipartisan stakeholders. Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a dynamic, deadline‑driven environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools. Memberships with coalitions and other professional associations. Eligible to register as a lobbyist at the state and federal level. Special Skills & Experience Demonstrated success in government relations or public policy management based on sound judgment. Analytical skills and ability to assess business and reputational risks. Strong leadership and relationship‑management skills. Experience collaborating with external consultants under the direction of senior leadership.
